Difference between computer and paper-based test

Now both the British Council and IDP IELTS is offering computer-delivered IELTS test option in various cities but still, there is an option of the paper-based test. You can choose paper as well as a computer-based test as per your convenience. There are so many plus points of computer over the paper. Advantage of Computer-based test

1. You will have result in your hand in just 5–7 days compared to paper-based where you get a result in 13 days
2. You will get more test date slots compared to paper-based test
3. if you are like “MAHATMA GANDHI” in handwriting then computer-based it the most trustable option for you( No need to worry about handwriting)
4. All rules will remain the same ( if you score 24 in listening in both Academic and General you will get 6 bands only) but the speaking test will remain the same.
5. Test cost for both is the same ( INR 14000)

The disadvantage of the computer-based test

1. If you are not good with computers then this is not a suitable option for you ( In listening you will be given 10 minutes to transfer your answers and if you are weak in tying you will not be able to transfer properly)
2. The paper-based test is the most comfortable ( Just shift the paper and read the paragraph).
